Warm sun poked through a thin cloud layer and kept visibility crisp while the open Chick Pea Hut garage let cinnamon bun aromas spill onto the deck.

Snow started inconsistent and icy, then softened into unstable slush; Upper Olympic at 10 am was the only decent line, and the usually steady crowds stayed muted because multiple race events (2+) left many runs unsafe.
