2021-01-22 Grouse mountain snow report
Finally grouse mountain started running snow makers! It's first time to see them running in this season. They were covering snows on the dirt spots, however, the layer is still thin and the fresh snow maker snow behaves very differently with the board, it was very hard to run. On the other hand the view was gorgeous above the snow makers. Due to being a sunny Friday, it was busy. Both Screaming Eagle and Olympic Express Chairlifts had relatively long lines since late morning, but not as bad as Cypress or Seymour mountains' main chairlifts.
Overall rate: 3/5 ★★★☆☆
Closed run:
- Coffin (Black)
- Inferno (Black)
- Outer Limits (Black)
- Purgatory below Heaven's Sake (Double Black)
Closed chairlifts:
- Peak Chair
- Magic Carpet (only in the early morning)
Open terrain parks:
- Cut Park
- Paradise Jib Park
- Grouse Park (Side Cut)
It was busy after late morning. It's Friday so it makes sense though. It also got hot after the cool morning.
Upper Buckhorn was fine. Skyline was icy at first but after many people ran through it got softer. Just be careful of small rocks at the end of Skyline or Side Cut, since they catch you and scratch your board.
Expo was still partially icy. Be careful of the shady area.
If you drive instead of taking buses, you probably have to park a bit far from the main parking area. It was very busy and fully occupied.
